Friendswood 4th of July Parade 2017

Find plenty of parking at Grandpa's house for this year's parade

Half of the street has no parking signs, first time for this

Head to the intersection of Castlewood and Friendswood Drive for our 44th July 4th parade

The street is blocked off for prime viewing under the shade of the trees

Both sides of Main Street are packed all the way to Stevenson Park and the parade's end

The parade starts with the first police car followed by our national flag

The colors are carried, as always, by the Knights of Columbus in their finest

The hardy Knights have marched 2 miles in 100° heat in their formal attire

The older Knights take advantage of the covered trailer

This year's parade Grand Marshal is Trish Hanks

Next is the Fwood ISD Board of Trustees

Fwood Mayor Kevin Holland

Followed by Jim Hill, Mayor Pro Tem

The parade of council members starts with Steve Rockey

Next council member is Sally Branson in the blue corvette

Followed by council member Mike Forman in the red Ram 2500

And our last council member is Carl Gustafson

County Commissioner Ken Clark rides in the Ford F-350 dually

State Senator Larry Taylor rides in the white Expedition

The football team is still the only riding FHS group

The Mighty Mustang Band follows the cheerleaders

The flag corps walks in rapt attention as they pass by the Castlewood intersection

The Band follows the flag corp with flutes a pipin' the school fight song

The cheerleaders follow the band performing as the walk the 2 mile route
