Schlitterbahn New Braunfels - July 19th, 2014

Girls awake Saturday morning and hydrate in preparation for the big day

Friday's park bracelet was an olive gray, wait until 8am to replace it

View over balcony of parking and resort pool area

Girls are suited up and ready to hit the water at 9am

Our room is part of the same building as the resort office

Today's bracelet is a dark salmon color, resort bracelet gets us in early

David happily finishes off yesterday's leftover ribs

Alex fuels up with peanut butter and cheese cracker sandwiches

Take the tram to Blastenhoff at Schlitterbahn Park East

Resort guests enter an hour early to get in 2 rides before the crowds

Head straight to the three rides of the Master Blaster tower

Yellow is Wolfpack, Blue is Master Blaster & Black is Black Knight

Head to the Black Knight first and quickly gain access

Carry your own two-man green dual tube up to the top

Look down on the Blastenhoff Beach through the tubes

Black Knight is entirely within tubes, no view during ride

Pull out the camera after exiting the ride

Alex and Nena come down next

Out the shoot and into the pool for debarkation

Erin and Donna are next to exit the tube

And they hop out of the tube to wait for the next ride

All the way to the top this time and wait for the Wolfpack

No tube to carry upstairs but a much longer line

Riverbend Cabins beyond the Torrent tube ride

Wolfpack and Master Blaster both hang over The Torrent

German towers provide decoration and function in the heat

Lifeguard makes sure the prior ride clears the exit way

Three man blue raft carries riders down the Wolfpack

Once the ride is clear, the next riders are allowed to go

Conveyor belt brings both blue and yellow boats to the top

The riders finally take the turn in the shoot below our vantage

Donna, Erin and David are finally aboard and underway

Wolfpack blue tube boat climbs walls on the way down

Erin braces for another turn and change in direction

Finally reach the end of the ride at top speed

Hit the deceleration point at the end of the tube

Water flies as we come to a stop and exit

Nena and Alex are right behind us after we clear the exit pit

That was a great ride! We loved it!

Let's do it again tomorrow morning, when the wait is less than an hour

Erin finds a kiddie tube to ride the world's longest waterpark ride

The Falls is a 3600 foot-long whitewater Transportainment river

The ride returns to the beginning allowing and endless float!

Donna is ready to lead the group into the first set of rapids

And there she goes with David following behind her

Erin is loving the rapids of this tube ride

This is fun, lasts all day and there is no line!

Erin has fun until she is dumped out near the Treehaus Suites

Find a logjam of people further up the river

Collect together after the final long tube of rapids

Join hands to go together up the AquaVeyer, returning us to the start

The AquaVeyer takes us back to the top to enable another journey down

It's more relaxing when your butt doesn't bounce off the rollers

We clear the top and head back down to start a new journey

We re-enter the water with all intentions to take another ride

But Erin doesn't want to get dumped out of her tube again

So Donna and Erin sit out a loop while Alex, Nena & David continue

We pass through the dump zone, Nena bravely volunteers that duty

We continue around the river and loop back to the AquaVeyer

Lifeguard enables the jam to enter the AquaVeyer one at a time

We are sorted out and make the climb together

Back at the start, we are forced off the ride and miss Donna & Erin

We head back to Blastenhoff Beach and cross over the Torrent

Eventually reunite back at Blastenhoff Beach

Rides on the Master Blaster tower are all well over an hour wait

Sky Coaster is $75 for three riders, Donna & I rode it at Astroworld in 1996

Find tubes and ride the Torrent around the Master Blaster tower

Strong current and big waves make the ride fun with little wait

Black Knight provides occasional shade as we float by

Hit the tram and go back to the original Schlitterbahn and our room

Lines are long here as well, with great weather on a Saturday

We find tubes near our room and jump into the end of a ride

The ride dumps out into the Comal River and we continue down

Lots of people take advantage of the river beside the crowded park

Erin enjoys the tube ride with no impending dump out area

We pass by the first exit point and continue to the next one

Time to get out and go wait in line again

Wait in a long line for the Raging River

Erin borrows daddy's sombrero to stay cool

Almost reach the top after an hour long wait

Finally get our chance to hit the water and ride the rapids

Original Schlitterbahn uses river water allowing black tubes

Plenty of rapids action as we change direction under a walkway

Slow down for a selp portrait under the Downhill Racer

Approach the family collection area under the walkway tunnel

Donna, Nena and the girls wait for David to catch up in the darkness

David takes the girls to the warm up at the Lava Lagoon

Nena and Donna fetch snacks and drinks while the girls swim

My toe bandage fell off and the warm water stings

Depart Schlitterbahn for lunch at Freddy's Steakburgers before a nap

Enjoy frozen custard then drop off Nena & Donna back at the park

Alex, Erin and David will nap so we won't be so exhausted tonight

Post nap, David cleans to meet family at a German restaurant

Order Zigeuner Schnitzel w/potato salad, saurkraut & König Pilsner

Eat with Yvonne, Janet & Danny at the historic Alpine Haus (251 S. Seguin)

Funny looking dog runs from the van before visiting D&J's new home

Back at the resort, Erin entertains before the outside movie begins

The girls get popcorn and front row seats for the movie

It is fun to make friends and have a good time

Tonight's movie is Ice Age, a nice distraction from the Texas summer

Fire is ready to make s'mores to enjoy during the movie

Erin gets another bag of free popcorn from resort staff

S'mores, popcorn and juice while watching a movie outside, FUN!
