2019 Fourth of July Celebration

We try a different 4th of July celebration in 2019 and miss the Fwood parade for only the 3rd time in twenty years!

Train dominoes and martinis are substituted over fire ants and fire trucks

The sound of the surf is more soothing than the sirens!

And seafood gumbo is a great backup plan to Stevenson Park BBQ

Margo, Carmella and Allan add to the 4th of July festivities

There are still great sites to see including parasailing this year

Traditional hamburgers, beans and Mac & Cheese to celebrate independence

Our nation's 243rd birthday celebrated with American food!

Alex, Allan and Carmella celebrate heartily

A great sunset signals the fireworks crew to start preparing

Get your mortar shells ready as the sun slips below the clouds

And then the celebration begins . . .

Ten different groups along the beach in front of us take turns firing

The family collects on the balcony, ready for an excellent show

Mortar shots are lined up and fired continuously from 8pm until 1030pm

Allan seems to have the loudest and biggest firework spread

The smoke and smell quickly woffs over our balcony

There are fireworks way off to the east in the distance

There are MANY fireworks directly in front of us

There are fireworks to the west way off in the distance

There are fireworks on the bay side of Galveston Island

And there are fireworks in the Isla Del Sol subdivision behind us

We are treated to a 2.5 hour firework display 360° around us

This firework display is the best since Disney World in 2013

And the girls love it especially the travel time to watch it

The fire truck arrives afterwards to put out the burning brush

And Allan & Carmella slip out the back to avoid the authorities
